Accusers attacked.
Plans were conceived.
Truth was produced.
Still no reprieve.
Slander continued.
Hate on repeat.
Rebuttal was proven.
Still no relief.
No wrong admitted
By those who deceived.
Family fractured…
Just innocents grieve.

It’s funny how you think I have to have you in my life…
            really, I don’t.
It’s crazy how you think our love survives all you’ve done…
            clearly, it won’t.

Balancing life
Of simple and strife,
ambitious enough…
 
Enter the thought-
inequity brought
has made it more tough.
 
Treat us the same
And you are to blame
for making it so
 
Equal and fair
and everything shared?
You forced me to go.

Implore me to go
To hear something
I haven’t before
 
Convince me to stay
As you drone along
And ruin my day
 
Stand firm in your fight
Again and again
My jaw clenches tight
 
Release me at last
Along with respect
Once held in your grasp.

Nothing so grand
The cold of the nose
As it touches my hand
 
Nothing so sweet
The smell of the fur
As I kiss the cheek
 
Nothing so right
The joy of the jumps
When returning at night
 
Nothing so warm
The feel of his body
Until the next morn.
